In Person Opportunities
The Field Teen Program Assistant
The Field is a teen discipleship program that will introduce The Gospel and how it intersects in life. The Field will encourage the celebration of life's accomplishments together, observe traditions together, and rejoice together when God answers our prayers. Volunteer the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 4:00pm-6:30pm to assist with keeping teens focused, encouraging discussion and thoughtful processing of the lesson, and assisting where needed.
BBC Reading Assistant
Join us for BBC 2021-2022! The goal of the afterschool program is to provide K-5th grade children with appropriate, nurturing, and consistent adult attention in a structured and engaging environment. Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:30pm to help improve a child's reading level. Some of that time will be helping the children complete their homework in small groups, some of the time will be working either one-on-one or in small groups (2-4 children) on literacy activities. This could be a game, writing a poem or story, reading, or some other activity. This is a weekly commitment. We are following COVID protocols, but volunteers will be in close proximity with a child during this time. Masks are required and we have hand sanitizer easily available for use.
Agape Development provides free childcare for participants. This overcomes a significant barrier to being able to attend programs. By volunteering your time, you are giving peace of mind of safe, affordable, and reliable childcare. Women's Ministry: 2nd Monday of the month 6:30pm-8:30pm, Monthly commitment. Getting Ahead: Meets weekly, Tuesday, 6:30pm-8:30pm, Twice a month commitment

Alternative Ways To Get Involved
Providing a meal during programs offers a time for neighbors and staff to share and build a relationship. It also eliminates another obstacle for parents. *Number of meals needed and days needed vary depending on program & seasonSign Up
Prayer Walk Lunch and Snacks
Every other Tuesday the Ministry staff walk the neighborhood and talk to our neighbors. Staff see how families are doing, what is happening in their lives at the moment, and ask for prayer requests. Many of our neighborhood residents have suffered income loss due to COVID-19 restrictions. We would like to be able to provide a meal to these families as we visit and minister with them each week.Sign Up
The sheetrock around the shower at the Men's Gateway House need to be replaced. It is a small space so no more than 2 people can work at a time.
Program Speaker We'd love for you to share your expertise and hobbies with our program participants. What are you knowledgeable on that would benefit our neighbors or provide a new experience for them? Can you share about nutrition? How to apply for college? What is work etiquette and why is it important? *This could potentially be done in-person with COVID protocols in place.
Snacks are provided to both the children and teens during program time. Snacks can be delivered in person or sent to the office via Amazon.
Donate your services as an electrician, plumber, exterminator, painter, handyman, or carpet installer for one of the facilities or Gateway homes.
