PROVIDE PEACE OF MIND FOR A PARENT
Providing safe and reliable childcare makes the difference in neighbors being able to attend programs that can change their life! Free childcare overcomes a significant barrier to attending a program. By volunteering your time, you are giving peace of mind to parents looking to become community leaders. Volunteer commitment is to commit at least twice a month.

BBC Homework & Reading Assistant
WILL RESUME SEPTEMBER OF 2022
The goal of the afterschool program is to provide K-5th grade children with appropriate, nurturing, and consistent adult attention in a structured and engaging environment. Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:30pm to help improve a child's reading level. Some of that time will be helping the children complete their homework in small groups, some of the time will be working either one-on-one or in small groups (2-4 children) on literacy activities. This could be a game, writing a poem or story, reading, or some other activity. This is a weekly commitment. We are following COVID protocols, but volunteers will be in close proximity with a child during this time. Masks are required and we have hand sanitizer easily available for use.

It’s a place where they can learn more about themselves and their future career path. It’s a place where everyone can belong.
Volunteers will assist director in carrying out program needs - Lead small group discussions/Bible study - Help facilitate group conversations - Build relationships with the youth - Meal prep and ordering food
Program meets on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm
Commitment is once a week either Tuesday or Thursday for 12 month
Alternative Ways To Get Involved
Summer Camp Lunches
Lunch is provided for both Camp Agape and the teen summer camp. Help us keep our kids fed this summer by providing a meal!
Camp Agape: 50 meals per day. Teen Camp: 25 meals per day. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
WHEN FOOD IS MORE THAN JUST A MEAL
Sharing a meal help develops relationships deeper than just within the set program curriculum. It allows a time of fellowship and relationship building between neighbors and staff as well as removes the obstacle of having to find time to cook a meal before participating in a program.
Snacks are provided to both the children and teens during program time. Snacks can be delivered in person or sent to the office via Amazon.
Donate your services as an electrician, plumber, exterminator, painter, handyman, or carpet installer for one of the facilities or Gateway homes.
Although we try to complete our group projects on the work days, we occasionally have one-off projects that need to be completed. Please email for more information and project availability.
Program Speaker We'd love for you to share your expertise and hobbies with our program participants. What are you knowledgeable on that would benefit our neighbors or provide a new experience for them? Can you share about nutrition? How to apply for college? What is work etiquette and why is it important? *This could potentially be done in-person with COVID protocols in place.
