How Can You Be a Part of Agape Development?

Committed Opportunities

Support a Child's Education Journey - BBC Math or Reading Assistant

Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays (math) or Thursdays (reading) from 4:15-5:30pm to help with math or reading enrichment activities.

Help Keep our Children's Area Organized

Help keep our children's area organized and ready to use. Commit to coming twice a month to reset the books on the shelves and straighten up the supply cabinets.

Mentor a teen!

We are excited to be reinstating our teen mentoring program! Do you have a heart for youth? Do you want to learn from the leaders of tomorrow? Then this opportunity is for you!

Being a mentor is a year-long commitment to walk alongside a middle or high school student from our neighborhood and provide support and guidance by studying the Bible together, providing accountability for goals and spiritual disciplines, chatting about life, and offering advice from a Christian worldview.

The teen mentoring program will begin in July of 2024. If you would like more information, please email volunteer@agapedevelopment.org.

Wash and Clean Vans

We have three passenger vans that are used for both the children's and teen's programs. Commit to coming out on a bi-weekly basis to wash the exterior and clean out/wipe down the interior of the vans. Estimated time approximately 2 hours per visit. (Need two volunteers.) *Timing for this will need to be worked around the use of the vans.

Weeding of Landscaping

Commit to coming out on a weekly or bi-weekly basis in the spring, summer, and fall to keep our landscape beds clear of weeds. Estimated time approximately 2 hours per visit. (Need 4-6 volunteer per week.)

Provide Peace of Mind for a Parent

Providing safe and reliable childcare makes the difference in neighbors being able to attend programs that can change their life! Free childcare overcomes a significant barrier to attending a program. By volunteering your time, you are giving peace of mind to parents looking to become community leaders. Volunteer commitment is to commit at least twice a month.

Weekly Mondays 6:30-8:30pm

Share Your Knowledge with our Neighbors - Program Speaker / Activity Leader

What knowledge and experience can you share with our neighbors? Lead a conversation or activity for our women or teens for an evening. Need ideas? (but not limited to these) Personal testimony. Estate planning. Budgeting. Careers. Self defense. Cooking. Yoga. Tie-dying shirts. Card making.

Parent Night Speaker

Parent Night is an opportunity for parents to learn more about what their children are doing at BBC as well as to learn new ways to engage with their children. Volunteers with expertise in education, learning games, parent/child conflict management, and other relevant topics are invited to come share with parents.

Alternative Ways To Get Involved

Sponsor and Install Agape Homes Landscaping

Agape Homes CDC creates quality affordable housing for diverse communities without concentrating poverty. The Agape Homes CDC goal is to give the families in the Agape Development community an affordable option to own a home. Sponsoring the landscaping and providing the necessary labor to install the landscape items helps keep the cost of the homes at an affordable level while also creating a welcoming space for our new homeowners.

This sponsorship opportunity covers the expenses of all landscape items: trees, sod, bushes, dirt, and mulch. All supplies will be ordered and onsite for your group to complete installation! This project of landscaping one home is best for 5-7 people but can accommodate up to 10. It is estimated to take approximately 3 hours, depending on the speed of your team.

The cost of this sponsorship is $5,000 per home with no limitation on how many homes you can sponsor as they become available and ready for sponsorship.

Trade/Skilled Services

Donate your services as an electrician, plumber, exterminator, painter, handyman, or carpet installer for one of the facilities or Gateway homes.

Group Projects

Although we try to complete our group projects on the work days, we occasionally have one-off projects that need to be completed. Please email for more information and project availability.
